We have been advised by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) that there is a new policy on RHT for TB in cattle in Scotland.
Animals that are now included in RHT’s are:
- breeding bulls, i.e. entire male animals over 12 months of age
- females which have calved
- young bovines which will be used for breeding, whether they are home-bred or purchased (except calves under six weeks old)
- pet cows ad other non-commercial cattle resident on the holding
You must therefore ensure homebred animals which will be used for breeding are presented for testing if they are over six weeks of age.
