Travelling abroad?

By 1st January 2021, the rules concerning travel to the EU and Northern Ireland will have changed. For more information, please go to: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pet-travel-to-europe-from-1-january-2021

If you are travelling to another EU country, or Northern Ireland, the minimum that your pet is likely to need is:

a microchip

an in-date vaccination against rabies

an Animal Health Certificate

If you have any questions about this, or you are unsure about what you need to travel with your pet, please do give us a call.

If you are travelling with your dog, you may also wish to consider reducing the chances of your dog catching Leishmaniasis, a very nasty parasite endemic to mainland Europe that is spread by Sandflies. Talk to us about spot-on type treatments that you can put on your dog to reduce the chance of insect bites, and also about vaccination against the disease. Please read this information leaflet provided by Virbac for more information.
